A city with a storied history as being a hub for U.S. economic development, Detroit, Michigan has taken a deep downward turn causing it to be the focus of much national attention in recent years. With an unemployment rate of over 8%, and named as the most dangerous U.S. for the last four years, the burden has never been greater to reach the people of this great city. World Hope has traditionally focused its invested time, energy, and resources around different parts of the globe, and now feel a burden to begin planning and thinking about how we can reach Americans in Detroit.
K-LOVE is partnering with World Hope to build the K-LOVE Hope Center. The Hope Center will meet the physical and spiritual needs of the area through addiction recovery services, 24 hour childcare, a feeding center for hungry children, a battered women and children shelter and a church on site. Through this partnership, we hope to bring about a larger Revival of Detroit, to help fully restore the city to what it once was. Detroit may not have the appeal as “Motor City” like it once did, but there are still people to reach and a city to be rebuilt. The method may change to reach them, but the message of God’s hope remains the same. Please be praying for the city of Detroit as World Hope and K-LOVE embark on this journey together.
